Our Under 16 DDSL Premier side who are reigning SFAI Under 15 champions faced a tough game away to Cabinteely in Kilboggit Park in the SFAI Sketchers Barry Cup but came through 4-3 winners having been 4-1 up with ten minutes to go they survived a late rally by a tough Cabinteely side.
In St Aidan's both our Under 17 and 18 Premier DDSL sides were involved in FAI Cup games - the 17's played Castleknock Celtic in the FAI Under 17 Cup and scored a comfortable 5-0 win while the 18's were made to work much harder by Peamount United in the FAI Youth Cup before coming out on top 4-1.
On 15 DDSL Premier 1 team visit last years Under 14 champions St Josephs Boys in the SFAI Sketchers Evans Cup was cancelled .
Also in the SFAI Sketchers Evans Cup our Under 15 DDSL Premier 2 went out at home 0-3 to Greystones United.
On Friday night last our under 12 Premier DDSL team played away in the SFAI Skechers Cup to league rivals Stella Maris in Richmond Road. Both teams played last week in a league game with SKB scoring a decisive 8-1 win but with home advantage tonight on a tighter pitch Stella proved a much tougher nut to crack. Byron Preston (Pictured) scored a cracker in the opening seconds when he struck the kick off directly into the roof of the Stella net, Stella were soon level before Byron scored his second of the night - 2-1 with just eight minutes gone, Daniel Bergin came on late in the first half and scored with a good header just before half time. The second half was even enough and with the score at 3-1 the next goal was always going to be decisive, it did not arrive until two minutes from time when James McManus struck a loose ball home following a corner before Byron Preston completed his hat-trick in the final minute.
Our Leinster Senior League first team were hoping to reverse their recent run of Cup defeats when they played Sallynoggin/Pearse in the first round of the Leinster Senior League Polikoff Cup at St Aidan's. It was scoreless at half-time despite the home side having chances and hitting the post on a couple of occasions. Eden Burke and Josh Peyton scored second half goals to ensure a comfortable 2-0 win.
Team; Browne, Firych, Conway, Barry, Cunningham, Burke, Commiskey, Reyner, Cromwell, Harrison, Peyton.
Subs used; Doyne, McCabe, Rooney.
Our 13 and 14 DDSL Premier teams were also involved in SFAI Cup games - the 13's winning comfortably away at Phoenix F C in Scribblestown while a Roland Banya hat-trick set the 14's up for comprehensive win at home in Shanowen against Drogheda Boys.
Our Saturday Senior lost 2-4 away to Farm United in the Leinster Senior League Carroll Cup
Our 12 NDSL Premier team went down 1-0 at home to Quay Celtic in Shanowen Road in the third round of the SFAI Under 12 Sketchers Cup in a really exiting game in which after conceding an early goal they put Quay Celtic under intense pressure for the rest of the hour but excellent defending and good goalkeeping along with missed chances saw the visitors through to the next round.
The 14's and 16's NDSL Premier teams traveled to Drogheda Town and Ratoath Harps respectively for SFAI Cup ties and both won convincingly 5-0 and 3-1.
