Our 14 DDSL Premier side represented Club and Country in the Futuri Campioni Ravenna European Cup in Italy this weekend playing 5 group games winning 2 (3-0 & 5-0) drawing 2 (0-0 & 0-0) and losing 1(1-2) against teams from the Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and Croatia they just missed out on qualification for the last 16 on goal difference.
The organizers of the Ravenna European City of Sport 2016 invited one Club from every Country in the EU to participate and SKB were the ones chosen by the organizers to represent Ireland.
The tournament is for under 15's (boys born in 2001) but with our 15's involved in the DDSL and SFAI Cup Finals on consecutive weekends our under 14 DDSL Premier team will take on the challenge in what should be a tremendous experience for the players playing top class opposition a year older than themselves.
There are seven groups of six teams - the 28 invited teams and 14 teams representing the surrounding areas of Ravenna. SKB are drawn in group D with teams from Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Croatia and the Czech Republic and will play their first group game on Friday morning against F C Slovakia from the Czech Republic.
The top two in each group along with the two best 3rd placed teams will qualify for the last 16.
