For the third Saturday running weather conditions played havoc with fixtures lists and those games that survived were played in very testing windy and wet conditions.
The four teams who played at Shanowen Road this morning deserve great credit for their performances as they sought to advance to the last 32 of the SFAI Cups.
Our 12 DDSL Premier team confirmed their recent league superiority over Belvedere when coming from behind to win 6-2 with centre forward Adam Coyle leading the way with a hat-trick along with goals from Jamie Kelly. Evan Ferguson and an og, the score could have been greater but for excellent defending and goalkeeping from Belvedere along with three other goals disallowed.
Knocklyon United prouduced a smash and grab raid on our 13 DDSL Major team scoring early in the first half - to which Josh Rayner equalised - and late in the second to win 2-1 in the SFAI Sketchers Cup. SKB totally dominated this game and they will wonder how their name will not be in the draw for the last 32 but credit to Knocklyon they were well organised defensively and took their chances when they arose
SKB will be represented in the latter stages of the SFAI National cups by our;
12 DDSL Premier, 13 DDSL Premier, 13 NDSL Premier, 14 NDSL Premier, 15 DDSL Elite, 15 NDSL Premier and 16 DDSL Elite teams.
