Our first team overcame Castleknock Celtic this morning to move into the next round of the AUL Liddy Cup on a 6-2 scoreline. A goal behind early on they were 2-1 up at half time through good efforts from Ben Donohoe and Peter Keegan and when Graham Raynor scored twenty seconds into the second half the game was over, further goals from Jordan Cromwell, Paul McMillan and Raynor again put a gloss on the result with Castleknock getting a late consolation goal just at the end.
Last week they moved into the third round of the FAI Junior Cup and an interesting tie against Premier A rivals East Wall Bessborough when they beat Kentstown Rovers 4-2 following a 5-1 home win over Dundalk side Quay Celtic in the first round.
For the second week in succession our AUL Premier A side scored a convincing Cup win this time winning 4-0 away to Freebooters in Kilkenny - a venue that has proved difficult in the past for SKB teams - in the first round of the Leinster Junior Cup yesterday with goals from Josh Peyton (2), Karl Young and Peter Keegan. They will be at home to Kippure Park FC in the next round.
Good luck to a sizable amount of our schoolboy teams who will be engaged this coming weekend in SFAI and Leinster Youth Cup games.
We currently hold the SFAI Under 12 Danone Cup along with the Leinster Youth Cup and we will be making a detmined bid to retain these and add to them by the seasons end.
