When our Under 16 DDSL Premier team defeated main rivals Cherry Orchard 4-2 today with goals from Mikey Cregan (2) Evan Pierce and Ryan Graydon they were completing yet another League and Cup double - having won the DDSL McGrath Cup last week.
Over the pat six seasons this group of players have won 15 of the 18 Cups and Leagues available to them at DDSL and SFAI level - a truly remarkable achievement by an extremely talented group of players.
Great credit is due to all the players involved in that time along with all the managers and coaches who guided them along the way - from Matt Nugent early on to Billy McCormac Kevin Wallace Frank Loftus then Joe Quinn Gareth Dodrill Willy Burke to today's managers Colm Barron and Ciaran Heffernan.
Well done to all concerned and we look forward to showing the powers that be in the FAI that they will be all the weaker for not including this group of players in their new National League.
