Our Under 12 Premier team were crowned SFAI Danone Cup champions following their well deserved 4-0 win over Crumlin United at Jackson Park.
A goal in the first minute from Eoghan Heavey gave them the ideal start when he powered on to a loose ball in the Crumlin penalty area to score after Dylan Quinn's initial effort was parried away by the Crumlin goalkeeper who needed to be in excellent form throughout to keep the score down.
Playing with a strong breeze in the first half two more vital goals were added in the five minutes before half time when Eoghan Heavey got his second and Ruari Kinsella adding a third to set Crumlin a difficult task of pulling things back in the second half - a task that was made even more difficult when Ruari Kinsella got his second with twenty minutes to go.
Credit to Crumlin who never gave up trying and who were not four goals a worse side on the day but the win was fully deserved by a team who won the title having played every game away from home.
Well done to all the boys and managers Ger Browne, Craig Caffrey and Paul Carr.
