Our 11A Saturday reached the final of the DDSL Condren Cup with a comprehensive 7-1 win over local rivals Home Farm at the VEC Grounds in Whitehall - Adam Coyle (2) Evan Ferguson (2) Callum Warren (2) and Tadgh Walsh the goalscorers.
Their Sunday counterparts made it a double at Shanowen Road last night when they defeated Malahide United in the semi-final of the DDSL 11A Sunday Fitzgerald Cup 1-0 in what was a tight game throughout with a Jamie Kelly goal deciding the issue.
Our 12 Premier conceded a first minute goal to Crumlin United in the semi-final of the DDSL Kavanagh Cup and for the rest of the game they created after chance but they failed to secure an equaliser mainly due to an inspired display by the Crumlin goalkeeper and some uncharacteristic poor finishing. These two teams will also be opponents in the SFAI Danone Cup final next month and another great game is in prospect there.
Our 15A met main league rivals Castleknock Celtic in the semi-final of the DDSL Cox Cup in Ellenfield and reversed the result of their League meeting a few weeks ago with a thoroughly deserved 3-2 win. Dylan Kelly opened the scoring in the first half and they would not have been flattered to be 4 or 5 up at half time but 1-0 it remained at the break. Dylan Kelly was again involved in the second goal when he was taken down in the penalty area with Lee McKevitt scoring the resulting spot kick to make it 2-0. Man of the match Kelly then scored his second to make it 3-0 before Castleknock scored twice in the last five minutes to make it closer than it should have been. It was a top performance from the whole team. The only downside was an injury to Marcus Murphy who sustained what turned out to be a suspected fractured elbow having played on following the injury for the rest of the game.
Our 18 Super exited the Ferrari Cup at the quarter final stage going down 3-1 to Lucan United while our 16 NDSL Premier needed extra time to defeat Lusk United and reach the final of the NDSL McKay Cup.
