Gavin Kilkenny was in sparkling form as our 15 Premier team advanced to the semi-final of the SFAI Evans Cup with a 5-0 win over Lucan United at Shanowen Road. Gavin scored three cracking goals after Jack Ryan had opened the scoring after 20 minutes, Lido Lotefa got the other goal. Despite playing against a very strong breeze in the first half the home side dominated from start to finish and led 3-0 at half time and were in no way flattered by the eventual winning margin.
Earlier at Shanowen our 14 Premier team confirmed their superiority over league rivals Belvedere by winning 3-0 in the quarter finals of the DDSL Thunder Cup. Ryan Cassidy volleyed home a Jack Kelly cross in great style in the 18th minute and Dawson Devoy added a second before the break. Facing the breeze in the second half they were still able to control the game and see it out with the help of a Jack Kelly goal just before the end.
The DDSL Liam Brady Cup will not be resting in the Clubhouse this year as our 13 Premier team were defeated 2-0 by Belvedere in the first game at Shanowen. A late penalty confirmed their defeat in a game that Belvedere were the better team throughout.
Also on the Cup front our 15 A had an easy win over Cambridge Boys in the DDSL Cox Cup and our 13.5 moved into the semi final of the DDSL League Cup with a convincing 3 - 0 win over Rangers A F C in Ellenfield,
On the NDSL Cup front we lost out in three quarter finals over the weekend 12 A lost 3 - 1 to Balbriggan in the NDSL Moran Cup, 14 Brenfer Premier were beaten 2 - 1 after extra time by Corduff and Maynooth Town were too strong for our 15 NDSL Premier winning 2 - 0 in the NDSL Martin Cup.
In the AUL section our Saturday team went down 2 - 1 to St Pauls Artane despite taking the lead while our Premier A side were outclassed by league leaders Sherriff Y C (0 - 7) in a very disappointing and lack lustre performance in Clontarf.
