Jamie Hamilton and Thomas Byrne featured in the starting eleven for the Irish Under 16 side for their second game the UEFA Under 16 Development Tournament against the Czech Republic at Gannon Park which resulted in a 2-2 draw with Ireland - for the second game running - winning the penalty shoot out 4-3 - Thomas Byrne among the penalty scorers. The final game of the series takes place tomorrow morning (Wednesday 18th) at 10.30am in the AUL Complex against Denmark.
Playing on his home pitch Thomas Byrne produced the goods in a man of the match performance for the Irish Under 16 International team when he capped a fine all round display with the equalizing goal three minutes from time which sent the game against Austria in the UEFA Under 16 Development Tournament into a penalty shoot out which Ireland won 4-3. Richie English - from the start and Jamie Hamilton when introduced early in the second half also contributed to the Irish win and look forward to the next two games against the Czech Republic and Denmark.
