A goal up after one minute (Ross Nally) pegged back to 1-1 after four and back ahead 2-1 (Ross Coyle) before the tenth minute had elapsed such was the frantic opening exchanges of our Under 17 Super teams FAI last 16 game against Trim Celtic at the MDL Centre in Navan on Saturday.
Ross Nally got his second after twenty minutes to make it 3-1 and with the team producing some excellent football throughout further goals from Conor Kane, Liam Brady and Eoin Morgan before the break ended the game as a contest. The second half was even more one sided with Jamie Gray hitting the seventh ten minutes into the half, the score would have reached seriously embarrassing proportions only for the Trim Celtic goalkeeper who made a series of excellent stops and he along with some wayward finishing and the woodwork kept it down but still Ross Nally added three more to his tally (5) and Darragh Roycroft was rewarded for his hard work throughout the game with two to leave it 12-1 at the end.
The 13 Major got back to a good start after the Xmas break with a 4-3 home win over Peamount United at Ellenfield David Alaba (2) Callum Conneely and Tony Gallagher the scorers.
Eoin Greene got the all important goal as our 12 Premier secured an excellant 1-0 win over St Josephs Boys at Pearse Park.
Our 16 DDSL Premier team proved much to strong for Home Farm at Shanowen Road on Sunday winning 5-2 with goals from Dara O'Shea, Thomas Byrne, Mikey Cregan, Jamie Hamilton and Evan Pierce.
Good wins for our 15A (8-0) over Cambridge Boys and 16 Major (2-1) over St Malachys keeps them in the hunt for their respective league honours.
Our first team went down by the same score (5-2) away to Collinstown FC in a AUL Premier A league tie with new signing from Kilkenny Nathan West impressing scoring both goals on his debut.
St Pauls Artane take a 2-1 lead into the second leg of the AUL Myles O'Neill Cup following their game against our Senior Saturday side at the AUL Complex.
