Our 13, 14 and 15 Premier squads had a tough three days of training and games in their visit to West Bromwich Albion over the weekend. They had a training session and fitness testing on Friday afternoon which was taken by WBA coaches while on Saturday and Sunday the three teams played their counterparts from West Brom (Saturday) and Colchester United (Sunday).
Top Premier League striker Saido Berahino visited the players during training on Friday afternoon and posed for photographs and signed autographs. The group was also joined by former SKB players Robert McCourt and Philip Gannon who are now making great progress as WBA youth team players.
Despite his disappointment at his team losing narrowly on Saturday afternoon 1 - 0 to WBA Robert Brady kept his promise and came out to meet all of the 13's, 14's and 15's squads at the Hawthornes after his game and he sat in the same seats as he had sat in a few years ago when he himself was a member of SKB groups visiting WBA.
Thanks to Mark Harrison and Steve Hopcroft for putting the top class facilities at the WBA Academy Complex at our disposal over the weekend and thanks also to the rest of the WBA staff for their efforts in helping to ensure that the weekend was productive and informative.
