The last weekend of football before Christmas was a good one with important wins for teams at all ages throughout the Club.
On Saturday at Shanowen Road our 14 Premier recovered well from last weeks unlucky defeat to Cherry Orchard to score a 2 - 0 win over Malahide United in a close fought game - Brian Mc Manus and Dawson Devoy scored first half goals but Malahide were the dominant team in the second half forcing Cian Clarke into a couple of excellent saves. Earlier on Saturday morning our 12 Premier had a 4 - 1 win over St Malachys. Our 12.3 maintain their unbeaten record at the top of the DDSL 12 A League with a 2 - 1 home win over Verona F C and our 10A were 4 - 3 winners away to Crumlin United.
A 1 - 0 away win at Rathcoole Boys sees our 17 Major 1 at the top of their League table going into the Christmas break and our 18 Super had a welcome 5 - 0 win at home to Tolka Rovers.
In the Leinster Youths Cup Ross Nally scored a hat trick away to Johnstown F C at the Meath & District Leagues complex in Navan yesterday - Jamie Gray and Jason Groves were the other two scorers in an impressive performance.
There were League wins yesterday for our 11.5 (1 - 0) v Esker Celtic at home, our 12.6 and 11.1 both drew against Lakelands (1-1) and St Josephs Boys (2-2) respectively.
The 16 Premier team had to come from behind in the final twenty minutes to maintain their 100% League record with a 5-2 away win against Mountview Boys, our 16 Major and 16 NDSL Premier had League wins over Castleknock Celtic (3-0) and Laytown United (2-0) while our other under 16 team drew 0-0 at home to Cabinteely in the DDSL A League.
In the DDSL 15 A League we also occupy top spot which was confirmed with a 6-2 away win against Greystones United while our 14 NDSL Premier continue their unbeaten run with a 2-0 win away to Portmarnock in the NDSL Mc Kenna Cup.
Goals from Ross Harrison and Stephen Cantwell put our 1st team 2 up inside the first fifteen minutes of their AUL Premier A home tie against Donneycarney United at Shanowen Road - they went further ahead before half-time with Cantwell scoring his second from the penalty spot but Donneycarney rallied well in the second half but could not pull back the defecit and a welcome 3 points were secured with a 3-2 win.
