The recent series of games in the FAI Youth Inter League Trophy saw a host of players from SKB's Under 17 and 18 Super teams represent the DDSL and the AUL.
Last Saturday night at Richmond Road the DDSL defeated the NDSL 2-1 in a close fought encounter which featured no fewer than 8 SKB players in the wimnning squad; Jamie Gray, Eoin Morgan, Ross Nally, Darragh Roycroft, Luke Wade-Slater, Conor Keane, Jason Groves and Liam Brady. The win came at a cost with Ross Nally sustaining a broken nose and Luke Wade-Slater having eight stitches in a nasty head wound.
The previous week Darren Lyng, James Browne, Jeff Rafter, Paul McMahon, Ross Kyle, Kyle Scully, Lee Partridge and Aaron McFadden represented the AUL - managed by Elliot Morgan and Donie Bermingham - against the Kildare League but went down 4-2 to end their interest in this years competition.
First team captain Paddy Brophy led the AUL Oscar Traynor Trophy team to their second victory in this years group games when they defeated the Wicklow League 4-0 yesterday at the Carlisle Grounds with former SKB players Alan Talbot (3) and Martin Moore scoring the goals.
