St Kevin’s Football Club are delighted to announce that they have come to an agreement to re-establish the exclusive strategic partnership between St Kevin’s Football Club and Bohemian FC.
The re-establishment of the partnership presents an opportunity for both clubs to further grow and offers a clearly defined pathway for elite players from the youngest age groups at foundation level right through to League of Ireland premier football and beyond using the expertise within both Clubs that have made them so successful in their respective spheres up to now. It also presents an opportunity for coaches to advance their careers as they gain experience and advance their coaching qualifications.
The nature of this partnership is unmatched as the full weight of experience of over 60 years that SKFC have gained at schoolboy level is aligned to the tradition of one of the giants of League of Ireland football in Bohemian FC.
Both clubs have a strong history of developing some of the finest players that the country has produced, and this partnership will only enhance that, and it will create opportunities for players from both Clubs to maximise their potential in a highly professional and competitive environment.
St Kevin’s Football Club like Bohemian F C also provide football for as many players as possible regardless of ability outside of elite level and both clubs are committed to continuing that policy.
We look forward to both Clubs embracing this renewed concept with desire, determination, and commitment to making it a success that will enhance football standards not just in both clubs but to the benefit of football in this country in general.
Bohemian FC
Statement
Bohemian FC is today delighted to announce a new strategic partnership with St Kevin's FC.
The partnership will cover our U13 and U14s League of Ireland boys academy teams and establish an in-depth shared strategic football oversight group that will ensure comprehensive player and coach development in Ireland's best footballing facilities and environment.
The partnership provides a proven pathway for boys to develop from U13s level all the way to senior League of Ireland Football at Bohemian FC.
It will harness the combined depth of potential at both clubs and enhance our shared footballing communities across Dublin City.
In tandem, Bohemian FC will continue to strengthen and develop both our core youth teams and community-based football structures for hundreds of boys and girls from across the city, while simultaneously expanding our club affiliate model with like-minded Dublin clubs.
Bohemian FC Director of Football Pat Fenlon said: “This new agreement builds upon a long-standing relationship between Bohs and St Kevin's, and will serve the ambitions and needs of both clubs well.
“St Kevin's have a proven track record of developing young talent as Bohs fans will know from the quality players that came to the club over the past number of years from Kevin's.
“We want the very best of players to come through that academy system, and there have been huge strides within our own youth structures at Bohemians as well to ensure that there are now several avenues available for players, both boys and girls.
“The addition of Ray Scully as Small Sided Games Coordinator last year has built on and complemented the work done by the Youth Committee and existing coaching structures at the club, and I feel that their efforts will really bear fruit in the coming seasons, with talented boys and girls coming through the system.
“As well as bringing through players from St Kevin's and our own club structures, we will also continue to work closely with our affiliate clubs, so that the best young players across the city have a clear route to progress to academy level football.
“The future pathway through our academy to the first teams (both men's and women's) will be greatly enhanced by our plans to further develop the already excellent facilities at The Oscar Traynor Centre. These plans will be communicated to the membership of Bohemian FC in the coming months before being made public, but our aim is to ensure we have the very best academy facilities in Irish football.”
