The DDSL Under 13 Premier League was won in great style last night as our 13 Premier overcame their closest rivals Belvedere FC 2-1 to add this years league crown to last years win at Under 12 level and complete a League and All Ireland Troy Cup double - not to mention second place behind Ajax in this years Academy Cup. Great credit and congratulations to all the players and the management team of Paudie O'Sullivan, Paul O'Dwyer, Gareth McMullen and Frank Loftus.
Our 16 Premier continued their recent great run with a 1-0 away win at Home Farm last night, they continue their League challenge and the pursuit of a treble for the season when they play Templeogue United on Sunday at Shanowen Road at 11.00m.
Shanowen Road on Friday night at 7.00pm sees our 18 Super strive to overcome the disappointment of last weeks Leinster Youths Cup defeat and add the DDSL Under 18 Super League title to the clubs cabinet when they play Crumlin United.
Our 11 B1 Sun needed a win last Friday night against Dundrum Athletic to win the DDSL 11 B1 Sunday League while the draw would have given them a play off for the League with Portmarnock but they were left to rue some missed chances going down 1-0 at Shanowen Road and they finished in 3rd place with the title going to Dundrum Athletic. The final standing places indicate just how tight this league race was:
1 | Dundrum Athletic | 10 | 7 | 2 | 1 | 23 |
2 | Portmarnock Afc | 10 | 7 | 1 | 2 | 22 |
3 | St Kevins Boys | 10 | 7 | 0 | 3 | 21 |
4 | Leicester Celtic | 10 | 3 | 1 | 6 | 10 |
5 | Marino Fc | 10 | 2 | 3 | 5 | 9 |
6 | Ballymun Utd | 10 | 0 | 1 | 9 | 1 |
Our first team end of season run of form continued as they reached the final of the AUL Liddy Cup following a 0-0 draw after extra time and an 8-7 penalty shoot out win over Donnycarney United at the AUL Complex on Friday night. Their opponents in the final from the other half of the draw will come from East Wall Bessborough, St Pauls Artane, Sherriff YC and Trinity Donaghmede.
Both of our sides involved in the Leinster Youth Cup semi finals over the weekend were knocked out - the 18's 1-3 at home to Cherry Orchard and the 17's 1-2 away to Dundalk F C.
