While our current crop of players are performing at the top end of their individual Airtricity leagues it is worth noting that the club had 6 ex-players in Europa Cup action this week.
Jack Byrne, Ronan Finn and Dylan Watts with Shamrock Rovers and Darragh Leahy, Sean Gannon and Greg Sloggett with Dundalk.
4 ex SKB players started with their clubs in the English Premiership Dara O'Shea WBA, Jimmy Dunne and Robert Brady Burnley and Jeff Hendrick at Newcastle.
Another player destined to further his career - Dawson Devoy won the man of the match award on Friday night in the televised Airtricity league game setting up the winner against Sligo Rovers.
Thanks to all of the managers and coaches - some no longer with the club - who helped them achieve what they have achieved so far and thanks to all of our current group of coaches and managers who keep that dream alive for those coming through the system.
Good times indeed and long may it continue.
