The senior section of the club held their end of season get together last Friday night and while promotion for the first team for the second season running was marked and celebrated the occasion also saw the departure of two club stalwarts Gerry Murtagh and Keith Rooney.
Gerry has served the club in many capacities over a long number of years as a board member, manager of numerous teams, head coach in the mini-leagues, edititor of the Tangerine News and most recently as secretary of the senior section.
All of these roles were carried out quietly and efficiently in a friendly and open manner despite him being a West Ham United fan.
Many thanks Gerry for all your efforts over the years.
Keith Rooney started playing for the club as a six year old and now 34 years later he has decided to hang up the golden goalscoring boots for good.
He played almost all his entire career with SKB except for a season or two break scoring over 850 goals in a career that anyone could be proud of.
Both Gerry and Keith recieved presentations from the senior section to mark the occasion.
Gerry received his presentation from Jeff Dequina who succeeds him as senior section secretary while senior section manager and sponsor Andy McKenna presented a framed jersey to Keith.
