Today was an eventful day to mark the return of schoolboy football after the christmas break which saw our schoolboy teams resume their challange for SFAI national cup honours in three age groups 12's 14's and 15's.
Our grip on the national Under 12 title is still intact after both of our sides remaining in the competition traveled to take on country opposition - Karl Keogh's Saturday team make the short journey to Clane FC and won 4-1 while Mark Tate's side had to work a lot harder to win 3-2 in Corbally FC in Limerick.
At Shanowen Road our 14 premier team were much too strong for Killarney Celtic
Over in St Aidans both games saw teams come from two goals down to force extra time and penalties.
Our under 14 major team were 2 down at half time to Clonee FC but came back to level in the second half to force extra time in which they led 3-2 but Clonee levelled to bring the game to penalties where SKB preveiled to reach the last 16.
The second game in St Aidans followed a similar pattern with our 15 premier 1 team taking a 2-0 into half time against Aishling Annacotty but the visitors struck back to level before the finish to force extra time which failed to produce a goal. The home side kept their cool in the penalty shoot-out to win 4-2.
