Despite having the majority of possession and the best scoring opportunities throughout the game it still took a 90th minute equaliser by Jamie Delaney from a close range header to keep SKB's interest in this seasons FAI Intermediate 4th round cup tie alive this afternoon at Coolmine against Verona FC
0-0 at half time having dominated for long spells on a heavy pitch the deadlock seemed to have been broken but a late linesman's flag ruled out what seemed to be SKB's opener but soon after there was no mistake as Stephen Cantwell dispatched a well taken penalty to the bottom corner. A second goal seemed likely but the post and a goal line clearance kept the home side in it and with 15 minutes to go they equalised when a corner from the right was not cleared properly and the ball was scrambled over the line. Worse was to follow five minutes when Gavin McCabe was adjudged to have pushed his man in the back when challenging for a deep cross and the resulting penalty gave Gavin Browne no chance.
So from being in total control of the game and looking likely winners throughout they threw everything at the home side and were rewarded in the 90th minute when substutite Josh Peytons deep cross from the left was headed back across goal by Jordan Cromwell for centre back Jamie Delaney to head in from three yards out.
Five minutes of injury time produced some more half chances to win it but its back to St Aidans on Friday week January 31st at 7-45pm for the replay.
It should be some game.
All support again would be greatly appreciated.
