Our 13 Airtricity team produced a fine performance this afternoon against Shamrock Rovers in Roadstone- coming back from an early 0-2 deficit to secure three points with a 5.3 win. After the concession of two early goals Mark Tarzan reduced the arrears before two strikes from Sean McCarthy and Nickson had them ahead 3.2 at the break. Within two minutes of the restart Nickson scored with a stunning left foot drive into the top corner following a lay-off from Mark Tarzan. Rovers quickly pulled one back before Scott Brady drove home number five for an emphatic win. The 17's poor run continued in Athlone where two goals in the last five minutes gave the home side a 3.1 win.
