Two more of our teams took part in the prestigious Oakham tournament in Leicestershire.
Paul Bassett and Keith Roche lead their teams into was a tournament of the highest quality where both teams played fixtures against top academies from the UK and beyond with both teams reaching their respective finals and the 2007's winning their age group and the 2005's finishing runners up.
The 2007's having beaten Mancester United 1-0 in the group stages confirmed that result in the final emphatically with a 4-1 win with goals from Fiachra Coffey, Bez Agbontaen, Ivan Gramminschi and Taylor Mc Carthy - having accounted for Peterborough United 1-0 in the semi final through a Richie Vodo goal.
In the group stages they defeated Manchester United, Wolves and Nottingham Forest losing their only game 1-0 to Peterborough United.
The 2005's went down 4-0 in the final of their age group having defeated Watford in the semi final and in the course of the group games they defeated Leicester City, Watford and Nottingham Forest but suffered defeats by Manchester United and Stoke City.
This tournament again is one of the most competitive and high quality tournaments of it's kind and it is vital that our teams continue to compete at such tournament to prove that our players can compete with the best.
