Both Airtricity teams in action yesterday scored good wins following last weeks disappointing results the Under 13s won 5-1 away to Galway United with the goals coming from a Mike Cherico hat trick, Ryan Markey and Darragh Harrison.
At St Aidans a penalty from Aaron Doran was enough to take the 17's into round 3 of their cup at the expense of Dundalk in a tight encounter.
The Under 15's were at home in Shanowen Road today against Galway United and two first half goals from Chris Lotefa and Brandon Nangle put them in the driving seat but Galway were never out of it and pulled a goal back mid-way through the second half and came close to getting an equaliser on a couple of occasions but it stayed 2-1 to the finish and it continues the 15's fine run of form in the second phase of the league.
