CUP UPDATES
It's was cup week last weekend and again this coming weekend in the Leinster Senior League with both our teams drawn away. The first team tackled league leaders Castleknock Celtic in the Kevin Nugent Cup on Friday night in Hartstown and came away with a fine 5-1 and they are in cup action again this Friday at home against Corduff FC in the Polikoff Cup.
After being 2-0 down and coming back to 2-2 our Saturday side lost to a last minute goal which gave Cherryfield United a 3-2 win at Beechfield Park in the Tom Carroll Cup
LEAGUE UPDATES
In their last league fixture our Leinster Senior League first team scored a hard fought 1-0 win at home to Larkview Boys while the Saturday side were also successful winning 5-0 at home against Inchicore Athletic.
Their game last week against CYM Beechwood was called off but prior to that enjoyed a good first week back after the Christmas break with a 1-0 home win against Trinity Donaghmede - Adam Whelan getting the all important goal 10 minutes from time just when it seemed that a whole host of missed chances - including a penalty - might cost them dearly.
This win follows a 1-1 draw away the previous Monday to Drogheda Town where Gary Owens got the SKB goal.
Our Leinster Senior League Saturday team who are top of the Major 1B league continued their excellent form last week with a 5-3 win over Kilnamanagh AFC which followed a 4-3 away win over Beggsboro FC the previous Monday.
