St Aidans saw the first team in action again tonight when they played Trinity Donaghamede in the FAI Junior Cup in what turned out to be the keenly contested game that was anticipated.
Deadlocked after 90 minutes it took two extra time goals from Josh Peyton to decide the issue and ensure that our first team are in the draw for the second round of the FAI Junior Cup for the first time in five seasons despite having to play the last 20 minutes of normal time and both periods extra time with only 10 men.
Last Friday night our first team scored a comfortable 4-0 win in the Leinster Junior Cup against Park Celtic and the Saturday team kept up their good start to the season with an equally impressive 5-2 away win over St Vincents Hospital in the league - which makes it four wins out of five for them.
Dolmen FC from Carlow will host our first team next Sunday in the next round of the Leinster Junior Cup.
All support welcome and appreciated.
