Goals in Mallow from Craig Moore (2) and Chris Lotefa and in Shanowen from Ryan Markey ensured that our Under 12's and 14's joined our Under 13's and 15's in SFAI Cup Finals next month as the club for the second year running are represented in four of the five finals up for decision along with our Under 18's who are in the FAI Youths Cup final in a fortnight in Waterford against Tramore AFC.
A clever chip from Ryan Markey ten minutes from the end decided the Under 12 Sketchers Norton Cup semifinal at Shanowen Road today against a battling Evergreen side who defended well all through and who forced Ryan Maher into a couple of fine saves on the break. Mark Tarzan was a threat down the right hand side especially in the first half putting in some fine crosses for chances that were not taken and he himself came closest in the first half to breaking the deadlock when he was inches wide with a diving header. Just when it looked that extra time might be a possibility Ryan Markey scored with a delightful chip over the advancing goalkeeper having been played through by a fine ball from Mark Tarzan.
Douglas Hall winners of the other semi final against our Under 11's will be the final opposition.
In Mallow our Under 14's came through their semi final in the SFAI Sketchers Goodson Cup in very windy conditions against Mallow United going two up in the first half with both goals coming from defender Craig Moore. Mallow pulled one back but Chris Lotefa made sure of a final place against Cherry Orchard or Leicester Celtic with a third before the finish.
