In the summer of 2017 when Danny Crowley head of Colaiste Ide football programme addressed SKB Under 17's and 18's at the time he outlined the opportunities available for young lads who wish to further their academic and football careers by applying to join the Colaiste Ide sport and leisure management / soccer course that was starting in September 2017.
Four of our Under 18's Sean Cummins, Levi Boardman, Morgan Biggs and Andrew Brennan at the time were accepted on the course and were part of the 20 strong group who travelled to Florida earlier this month to play a series of games against Colleges and Universities in the Florida region and to perform in front of scouts who are on the look out for talented players for their scholarship programme.
This trip was highlighted in the Evening Herald and also on that page was a report that former SKB player Shane Elworthy was the recipient of the Blanchardstown I.T senior player of the year for 2017/2018.
