Our 12's kept their unbeaten run going this morning when seeing off the challenge from Swiss side Etoile Carouge and FC Nantes to qualify for the final of the Villeret Cup against Staide Rennes. The quality of the tournament is very high and teams like PSG, Monaco, FC Bruges, Fulham, FC Nantes, Cruzeros (Brazil) and FK Helsinki failed to reach final.
Rennes proved too powerful in the end running out 2-0 winners in a game played in 26 degrees of heat and where we never re-captured the form of previous rounds but a fantastic display nonetheless from the boys over the two days. SKB's Kevin Zeffi was named player of the tournament - an award fully deserved.
Our Under 12's scored four impressive wins in their games on the opening day of the Villeret Cup tournament in Le Mons France yesterday.
Wins against local sides SC Hazebrouck (2-1) EC Monce (5-0) was followed by a penalty shootout win over Belgian side FC Bruges and a 3-1 win in the last game against Aspit Marseille.
Those wins puts them in the last 6 of the tournament- the final six being divided into two groups of three with the group winners progressing to the final.
SKB are in a group with FC Nantes and Swiss side Etoile-Carouge - the action begins at 10-20am local time.
