The first game played at St Aidan’s on Sunday was the semi - final of the North Eastern Regions Under 16 Cup SKB 16 NDSL Premier against Drogheda Town.
SKB started off very well and were dominant from the first minute but couldn't break down a very determined Drogheda Town defence who themselves tried to hit SKB on the counter attack but the first half remained scoreless. The 2nd continued in that vein but it was the visitors who took the lead against the run of play.
That provided the spark that the home side needed and they replied with three goals the first from a corner by Davidson Okosin , Ciaran Cranitch scored the second at the back post and Gavin Lenihan made it three, they went looking for a fourth and were hit on the break to make it 3-2 and from then on it was back to the wall stuff as Drogheda had a few chances but Ben Murphy’s safe hands helped Kevin’s to the win and into the final.
