Congratulations to Wayne Gallagher and his Under 11 team who made no mistake today in the final of the DDSL Coyne Cup with an emphatic 9-2 win over Drogheda Boys at the AUL Complex with the goals coming from Callum Bartley(2), Emmanuel Osei Obonsu(2), Jack O'Neill, Dyson Reilly, Jonny Kaya, Niks Balamaks Okenevus plus an o g.
Also victorious were our Under 14 Premier team who had to come from behind to beat St Josephs Boys in the final of the DDSL Thunder Cup. 0-0 at halftime - a defensive mixup allowed Joeys take the lead 15 minutes into the second half but that goal was cancelled out within two minutes when Aaron Doran equalised. The clock was ticking into the 35th minute when Ronan Kilkenny picked up a ball on the edge of the Joeys area and blasted the winner into the top corner.
Our 12B side who have been blazing a trail through league and cup this season failed to show the same spark in the final of the DDSL Farry Cup losing out on penalties 3-2 after a 1-1 draw with extra time failing to find a winner.
In one of the highest scoring games of the day our 11A came back from being a goal behind to lead 2-1 before going down 4-3 in the final of the DDSL Condren Cup.
