Our Under 16 NDSL Premier sise came from a goal down to account for Cork visitors Greenwood FC and ensure that the club has at least one representative in the last 8 of the SFAI Sketchers Barry Cup. Greenwood took the lead early in the first half but Jason Noone equalised before Mervin Mambo fired home the winner eight minutes from time.
The SFAI Sketchers Barry Cup game between Drogheda Town and our Under 16 DDSL Premier team was postponed due to ground conditions.
Kevin Zeffi scored a hat-trick as our Under 12 DDSL Premier scored a comfortable away win over Ardee Celtic in the last 16 of the SFAI Sketchers Cup, also on the score sheet were Billy Gilmore (2) Daniel Bergin, Luke Browne and Byron Preston.
A place in the last 8 of the Leinster Senior League Ryan Cup was gained by our Senior Saturday side when they scored a fully deserved win over Portmarnock AFC 3-0 at St Aidans and so keep up the great run of cup results achieved by Club teams this weekend. Jordan Cromwell (2) and Josh Peyton fresh from their efforts last night with our first team scored the goals.
Gavin O'Brien was the two goal hero in our Under 14 DDSL Premier teams exicting 3-2 win away to Cherry Orchard in the SFAI Sketchers Goodson Cup last 16 game at Elmdale. He scored with a superb free kick in the first half and was on the end of a good move deep into injury time at the end of the game to score the winner with his left foot into the top corner to end the contest which looked like it was heading for extra time after Cherry Orchard had pulled back SKB's 2-0 half time lead with seven minutes to go - Conan Noonan having hit the second goal before the break.
There won't be an all SKB quarter final as our Under 14 NDSL side lost out 5-0 away to Crumlin United in their last 16 game in Pearse Park. An unfortunate og just before half time gave Crumlin an undeserved half time lead but they proved too good in the second half for what was a somewhat understrength SKB side who fought bravely to the end.
The big weekend of important cup games got off to the best possible start last night as our Under 13 DDSL Premier side qualified for the quarter final of the Sketchers Troy Cup with an emphatic 5-0 win over Belvedere at St Aidans and our Leinster Senior League first team advanced to the last eight of the LSL Polikoff Cup.
Well on top from the start our 13's dominated the game going 2-0 up before half-time through Cian Kelly and Ben Curtis, two more early in the second half from Evan Ferguson and Jamie Mullins - a delightful chip over the 'keepers head from 25 yards - before Alex O'Brien finished the scoring seven minutes from the end.
The senior team put last weeks disappointing league defeat behind them as they gained revenge for their defeat in the Leinster Junior Cup in October by overcoming Mid Sutton Sportslink 3-2 in the last 16 of the LSL Polikoff Cup in the second game played at St Aidans tonight.
Scoreless after a tight first half the home side struck twice in two minutes early in the second half through Eden Burke and Josh Peyton and looked that they might win comfortably but MSS pulled one back with 15 minutes to go only for Jordan Cromwell to restore their 2 goal advantage a minute later. Again MSS came back when Andrew Nugent scored with just seven minutes left on the clock to set up a backs to the wall end to the game with the SKB defence under constant pressure but they held on to win in what was a very enjoyable and exciting game,
